BJT – A Conte 352 / King of the Serie A. Following a request to try and replicate Conte’s favoured 352 / 532 formation, admittedly I’ve only seen him manage Chelsea with close eyes. But given his popularity I thought I’d give it a go. I firstly saw a video on youtube that explained how this year’s Inter were playing in brief.

Tactic Gasperini's game plan consists in a very attacking team, that allows a lot of freedom to all players in all senses, and tries to fill and explore every area of the pitch (the very attacking wing-backs fill the wide-areas both on their own and the opponent's area, and the midfielders and the deep-lying forward try to keep positional control of the central regions).
  • Amazing job man!I like 352 formations!AMC role not too good for this edition in my opinion, tested a lot of tactic with AMC but all poor rating for player and I dont like it personaly.this look interesting 2 Mezala and one BBM.looking forward to test it.
  • A couple folks asked for my 5-3-2 tactic I used in my unbeaten season, here it is. Didn’t really tweak the positional instructions and just to be safe, switch WBs to support until you’re one.
  • FM21's OP formation. One of the terrific things about Football Manager 2021 is the ability to create, refine, and tweak your tactics. But in our play, one shape has proven the most potent, the 4-3-3.

The attackers have freedom to sometimes drop to the wings, which is generally followed by attacking midfielder Papu Gómez dropping deeper on the attack (and making good use of his great finishing and long shots), and/or the wing-backs dropping to the area and confusing the opponent's defense.

Sometimes the ball-playing defenders drop deeper and help on building up the play, and if the team feels it's necessary, one of the central midfielders or one of the wing-backs can temporarily fill the CB's role (this part of Gasperini's tactic isn't that possible to apply in FM, as there isn't a attacking centre-back role, but from my testing i've seen Rafael Tolói and Palomino drop a little deeper sometimes).
The attacking midfielder and the deep-lying forward (Papu Gómez and Ilicic respectively in real life) have the most freedom in the whole team due to their characteristics, and can due everything from dropping back and helping only on building plays for the advanced forward to dropping deeper to the opponent's area and causing various problems to the defense with their really good dribbling and finishing. 352
I couldn't 100% replicate Gasperini's tactic due to some limitations on FM, but i think it's close to what it is in real life.
